Dalaks & Cybermen

The Daleks are a fictional extraterrestrial race of mutants principally portrayed in the British science fiction television program Doctor Who. Created by the Scientist Davros, Daleks live in a tank-like robotic shell, removing every emotion apart from hate.

They’re perhaps more cyborg than robot.

Dalek’s are violent, merciless and pitiless cyborg aliens, who demand total conformity to their will, and who are bent on the conquest of the universe and the extermination of what they see as inferior races.

The Cybermen are a fictional race of cyborgs who are among the most persistent enemies of The Doctor in the British science fiction television program Doctor Who. Cybermen are a species of emotionless space-faring cyborgs who convert human beings (or other similar species) to join and populate their ranks.

The Cybermen are humanoid, but have been altered until they have few remaining organic parts. All that remains is a living human brains.

Similar to Daleks they are more cyborg than robot.

Created in 2006, it has a wonderful conversation between two robot species

WALL-E

Thomas Newman's score for this Pixar gem has lots of great moments, and one of the more entertaining ones is this throwback to the type of music Burt Bacharach was famous for in the 60s. It fits perfectly in this hilarious date montage, as WALL-E tries to bring EVE back to life.
Help me make more videos! https://www.patreon.com/popdetective Pixar's Wall-E is a masterpiece of animated filmmaking about two adorable robots falling in love, though I'd argue it also serves as an excellent example of sociological storytelling. Social systems are one of the most important, and most misunderstood, concepts in my work on media and masculinity.

Interstellar

"MythBusters" co-host Adam Savage was left cold with the plot from Interstellar. However, his knowledge of mechanics leads to his conclusion that T.A.R.S. is the perfect robot. -------------------------------------------------- Follow BI Video on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1oS68Zs Follow BI Video On Facebook: http://on.fb.me/1bkB8qg Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/ -------------------------------------------------- Business Insider is the fastest growing business news site in the US.

Ex Machina is a great example of how a screenwriter's ability to carefully control a story's information can make for a compelling film.
As it's not on YouTube yet, I'd like to share this awesome part of the movie Ex Machina (2015). It's the best part of the movie in my opinion! The music adds so perfectly well to the scene, it's incredible.

Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics

Dr Asimov describes the three laws of robotics. First Law: A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Second Law: A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

Marvin The Paranoid Android

Black Mirror

The often scary realistic and prophetic science fiction series 'Black Mirror' continues to deliver dystopian visions of the future, including robotics. In "Metalhead," dog-like robots have turned on humanity and we are being hunted down by these ferocious devices.
